Welcome to the structure section. Here you will find photos of structures such as bridges, depots, water tanks, etc. Some of the photos may not be "high quality" photos, but nobody is perfect. The purpose is to portray equipment that has been removed or still standing. Each section listed below will open a new window.

All of the tunnels on "The Hill" are now numbered with reflective number plates. The two photos above show the old method for identification. The older boards showed more information, such as the tunnel's length.

There are three major bridges on the Cascade Line. Salt Creek Bridge, located at MP 563.2 crossing Highway 58, Noisy Creek Bridge at MP 548.6 between tunnels 9 and 10, and Shady Creek Bridge at MP 547.7 between tunnels 7 and 8. During December of 1964 heavy snow, up to three feet, fell in the Cascades. Then heavy rains came and melted it all off quickly. The ground quickly saturated and numerous slides took place on the line. 130 feet of Noisy Creek Bridge slid down the canyon. Several mud slides took place also. All three of the above mentioned bridges were damaged in one way or another
