Shady Creek Bridge, 1965

This derailment occurred at Shady Creek bridge in March 1965, three months following the 1964 flood. Several boxcars carrying paper went over the side and two, a Northern Pacific and a Union Pacific boxcar, still remain but are carried deeper into the canyon each time mudslides occur here. The train was travelling westbound.
